About Us

My work is built to last and each project that leaves my shop doors is built to a level of quality I would want to put in my own home.

The key to any great design is research. We will discuss and discover your thoughts, ideas and meet the needs of your custom project. We will explore possible materials and finishes, review required dimensions, and get a better overall feel of your project. Together we will plan out an appropriate time frame and set a budget that works for you.

Once the basic concept has been figured out, I will develop a preliminary drawing in 3D that will allow me to work out all the functional concerns and specifics of the build. After your review we can tweak any components to make the perfect piece shine.
Now that we have a great design including details of the function and aesthetic we can start the build.

Craftsmanship, aesthetic and traditional building practices are the key elements in my building process.
When working with wood, I personally select the best material for each part of the project, assigning the appropriate grain and texture to each component of the build.

It’s alive! This is the part of the process where your inspiration and all the hard work comes to life. We will set a time for you to review the finished piece, or send you a picture for your input and approval.
I am always ecstatic to be a part of such a fun journey with a new friend!

My passion is to create quality custom furniture and spaces that will leave a lasting impression, while offering as many choices of mediums as possible.  I like the idea of combining different finishes and placing materials that are not commonly used together, what strikes me is how objects can complement each other, but yet are so different in structure and their qualities.

Some of the materials, finishes and services are listed below, but if you have an idea and wish to explore something different, I always look forward to expand my capabilities through my work.

Wheeler’s Studio is a cabinetry, furniture and mill work design/fabrication studio based in Port Perry, Ontario formed in 2009 by Jason Wheeler.

Influenced by industrial design the studio marries traditional methods of furniture building with artistic techniques to produce objects of intrigue and function.

My goal is to maintain a solid artistic avenue, to combine modern design with traditional practices while building meaningful pieces with the highest quality materials. Each piece will preserve your story, as well as its own, allowing it to be told decades from now.

I focus on unique innovations in design and the care of each customer’s needs is the greatest inspiration and develops into lasting connections.
